for Bristol and District Chartered Accountant Students' Society (BADCASS). BADCASS is a not for profit society representing trainee chartered accountants in the Bristol and district area. The area covers Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Swindon. Any individual under a training contract with the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or with ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) is automatically a member of their local student society also. [Please note that ICAS students are not automatically subscribed to BADCASS this must be done by individual firms.] The society is administered by a committee of volunteer trainee accountants, representing several of the professional service firms and companies in the region. Our aim, as a committee, is to enhance the personal development and networking skills of trainee accountants within the accountancy community through the organisation of social and events throughout the year. We also represent students at a national level on the ICAEW Student Council and provide a link between trainees and the ICAEW West of England - the local district society.
